Student Wellbeing may contact any person identified in the information you provide, if there are concerns about their wellbeing and safety. If it seems there is a serious threat to someone’s life, their health or safety, or a serious threat to public health or safety, University staff may need to contact the Police, or people at risk of harm.
Your rights and privacy at Macquarie University
You have the right to ask for access to your personal information held by Macquarie University. The University maintains records for each student about their educational progress, and any wellbeing or safety concerns. Why is this personal information being collected?
The information is collected to respond to concerns about student wellbeing and safety. To read about our response to reports of sexual harassment and sexual assault, see the Student Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Policy and Procedure.
Information provided may be used to assess general student wellbeing and safety requirements at the University, for statistical analyses and other administrative matters. Information used in this way will not include details which can identify any person.
Anonymous reporting
We accept anonymous reports. However, our ability to assist you may be limited because we do not have your contact details. We may be unable to respond, or to investigate your report, or provide a decision.
